Facebook planning to release a new app get news by the next week

According to some media reports, Facebook could be launching a new standalone app for getting news stories, as soon as next week.

Called Notify, big media companies like CNN and the Washington Post will reportedly join Facebook to deliver stories within the app.
The app will be able to send notification alerts for breaking news of up to 100 characters of text and link to the news article on that publication’s website.
